  • SLL FIELD RENOVATIONS

In order to maintain the high quality of our facilities, the Suffern Little League Board of Directors continually works to upgrade and maintain our ball fields...Particularly during the off season by League President Adam fazio, Board Member Barry Dain, Patrick Crotty and others. Depending upon the year, some fields will get more off season attention than others. This page should give you a better understanding of the work performed and the dedication given by people behind the scenes.

    CUCOLO FIELD
FALL 2009: The entire infield has been leveled out, edged and new sod has been planted. The pitchers mound has been edged and surfaced. Come spring time Cuculo Field will have a fresh coat of clay and ready for another exciting season.

    VILARDI FIELD
FALL 2009: Vilardi is undergoing major renovations. We are installing a new backstop behind home plate and new fence along the left and right field lines. There will now be 12’ feet of foul territory between the foul line and the new fence. There will be a new clay path between home plate and the pitchers mound. In addition the infield will leveled off and new top soil and seed will be installed. New pitching rubbers for both baseball and softball will be installed in order to accommodate both baseball and softball.

    SOFTBALL FIELD
FALL 2009: In preparation for SLL girls softball the entire out field grass and infield has been edged and new top soil has been put down. Seed has been planted and will be ready for spring. By early spring a fresh layer of clay will be added to provide a smooth and even playing surface for the New Girls softball league. New pitching rubbers will be installed for all age groups. The softball will be able to accommodate both baseball and softball.

    JUNIOR/SENIOR FIELD
FALL 2009: Senior Field has been leveled off with new top soil and seed in both the infield and out field grass. The pitchers mound and entire infield has been edged. By spring a new layer of clay will be installed and the senior field will be ready for baseball.

    HORTON FIELD
FALL 2009: Horton has had a new face lift. The entire infield has been edged, topsoil has been added to both the infield and the outfield grass for an even playing surface. A clay path has been installed from home plate to the pitchers mound. New pitching rubbers will be installed to accommodate all age groups. By spring a new layer of clay will be installed. Horton will now accommodate both softball and baseball games.

We are constantly working to maintain our little league fields you help is always appreciated. Come by and see the new work or contact Barry Dain at bdain33@msn.com if you have some extra time on a weekend or during the week and want to volunteer some time. See you on the fields!!!
